A day of gathering: Survival Infrastructures

“The capitalist system is killing this planet, and killing it rapidly.
And so we are going to have to get rid of it, before it gets rid of us.”
Kali Akuno

Rotterdam is pulsing with organizations, tactics and knowledge through which many organize their survival with as much fire as they can. This pulse can lead us towards a future, insurgent way of life—one that beats and breaths against the destructive brutalities we face. What we want is a life we can tend together, despite and against the existing repression and war mongering.

We want to gather with different groups and organizations in and around Rotterdam to meet and learn from each other. We want to share our knowledge and capacities around food, shelter, health care, legal aid and other infrastructures that are essential to strategize and plan for the future. These means of survival can flourish through collective learning. For this to be possible, we feel the urgency to get to know each other more. Only by gathering and learning from each other we can begin to sense our collective power. Survival infrastructures require that we come together now. Our infrastructures need to be collectivized across all fronts to build stronger solidarities, daring imaginaries, and caring futures. That’s why we want to organize a day of planning, sharing and imagining what will need to be done.

We cannot be sure about what is ahead of us, but we do know it won't be any good. The genocidal collaboration of liberalism and fascism has occupied the entire political field and is eroding our capacity to live otherwise. We will need trust and solidarity. These are essential revolutionary conditions and will only emerge by getting closer together. Being present with each other. Only together can we agitate, resist, disrupt and understand power. We can only begin to break out of the burning house of white-bourgeois protection, if we can find some way to survive without its empires and genocides. We want to do that with all of you.

None of us know what to do because none of us are free. Only devoted, solidary actions and practices can transform us into a collective that will know what to do. Let's learn from each other. Make connections. Relate. Understand our situation and where we want to go.
